Suspect: Unknown white male adult, 20-25 years of age,
5'9"-5'10" tall, 170 pounds, dark clothing.
Vehicle: Late 1980's white Oldsmobile sedan
Details: On April 11, 2007 at about 12:54 AM, Newport Officers were dispatched to a robbery that had just occurred at the South Beach Grocery. Officers began the investigation and learned the suspect threatened the store clerk and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. The suspect was last seen running from the area and getting into a late 1980s Oldsmobile sedan. The suspect fled the area in the vehicle and was last seen traveling north on SE Ferry Slip Ave. Nobody was injured during the incident. Newport Police Officers were assisted by deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact Officer Jerry Howe at 541-574-3348.
