Incident: MIP/Furnishing Alcohol to Minor Case: 07N-01832

Suspect: Druba, Jeff N Age 20 of Newport, OR
Details: On 07/29/07, Newport PD officers responded to a report of a man down in the area of SW Bay Blvd and Hurbert Streets. Upon arrival, officers could hear persons screaming and discovered an MIP party at 402 SW Bay Blvd. Several persons started to flee the residence on foot. Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to assist, as well as a volunteer from the Enforcement of Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) program.
Jeff Druba, the resident where the party was being held, was cited for MIP and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor. Seven minors were cited for MIP and released at the scene. The minors cited were:
Wendy Ann Wilde, age 18
Kayla Rachelle Chappell, age 19
Scott Clayton Mathewson, age 20
David J Morley, age 19
Megan Emily Mackey, age 18
Rachael Marie Doherty, age 20
Two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were found to have been drinking and were referred to the Juvenile Department for MIP. The 16 year-old was found unconscious in a closet and was choking on his own vomit. The juvenile was transported by ambulance to SPCH, where he was treated and released to his parents later in the morning.
Young persons are reminded of the dangers of alcohol poisoning that could result in serious brain damage and possibly even death in some cases.
