Incident: Tip-A-Cop

Details: The Newport Police Department, working with Bayfront Pizza and Oregon Special Olympics, conducted a Tip-A-Cop fund raiser on Saturday, June 7^th. The money raised will go to support Lincoln County Special Olympic Athletes competing in state and regional events. Seven members of the Department worked with two athletes and the staff at Bayfront Pizza and raised more than $370.00.

 

The next Tip-A-Cop event will be held 21 June at Abbeys Pizza in Newport between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00p.m. These events are a lead up to the Law Enforcement Torch Run that will be held the week of 23-27 June. The Torch Run is sponsored by local Law Enforcement who will run with Special Olympic Athletes from Depot Bay to Florence in preparation for the State held Olympic Games in Portland on 28 June.
